Danny Ferguson

Danny Ferguson grew up in Winston Salem, North Carolina, attended East Carolina University, and served honorably in the U.S. Marine Reserves. Danny graduated from the University of Memphis School of Law where he served as managing editor of the law review. In Memphis, Shelby County, Danny served as an assistant public defender and as the coordinator of the capital defense teams.Later in Winston Salem, North Carolina, he practiced criminal law, serving as a state and federal defender, an assistant public defender and as counsel for the Guardian Ad Litem office. Now after fifty years as a practicing attorney, Danny is retired and lives in the Charleston area with his grandchildren nearby, his beagle Beau at his feet, and particularly with the love of his life, Betty, by his side. Life is good!

Betty Ferguson

Elizabeth Powell Ferguson grew up in Hampton, Virginia and graduated from Old Dominion University. She earned her Master of Music Education at Virgina Commonwealth University. Elizabeth enjoyed a 40-year career as a music teacher and choral director in Virginia and North Carolina public schools and churches. She now enjoys having the luxury of time for watercolor painting, for spending time with her family and friends, for gardening, for playing piano, for reading, and for taking daily walks with Beau the Beagle. At Danny's urgings, she joined with him in writing The Sultana's Saboteur, which will be her first published writing.
